North Country Independent Living is taking measures to protect staff members, consumers, and community members due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.  North Country will adjust the way services are provided to consumers and the community. The following measures will be in effect until further notice.

Bullet The North Country office will be closed to the general public, but the agency may still be contacted by phone at 715-392-9118 or Toll free at 800-924-1220 or by e-mail. No meetings or events will be held at the agency office.

Bullet No in-person services will be provided. Any existing appointments in the office, or out in the community, may be changed to a phone or e-mail contact, may be rescheduled, or may be cancelled.

Bullet Personal Care services will still be provided and proper precautions are being taken to protect personal care workers and consumers.

Bullet No community meetings or events will be attended by agency personnel.

Bullet No assistive technology services will be provided, including demonstrations, loans, and assessments. No assistive technology donations will be accepted at this time.

Bullet Staff members will be working from home and checking phone messages and email regularly.

North Country Independent Living’s New Office!

As of March 1, 2020 North Country Independent Living’s new office is located at: 2911 Tower Ave, Suite 9, Superior, WI 54880. 

 

North Country Independent Living’s mission is to empower people with disabilities.

The mission is broad based, allowing North Country Independent Living to respond to a variety of needs. The philosophy promotes people with disabilities being active participants in daily living and being given the same opportunities and choices as others. This philosophy is promoted through consumer choice and control.

People with disabilities are active participants within the agency. The majority of the Board of Directors and staff are people with disabilities.

North Country Independent Living is a non-profit agency servicing people with disabilities in northwestern Wisconsin. As a consumer controlled organization, at least 51% of our staff and board are people with disabilities.  North Country staff provides information, training and support to people with disabilities in making informed decisions about disability related needs. All services are consumer controlled, each individual decides which services they wish to participate in while working with staff to establish goals and determine steps to meet those goals.
