Skills Trainer

Part-time position available

Provide consumer directed individual independent living skills training in the communities of Ashland & Bayfield Counties to persons living with mental health disabilities and/or substance use disorder. The Skills Trainer will work with other team members to support consumers in working toward achieving goals in the consumer’s recovery plan.

Qualifications include: High school diploma or equivalency. Must be 18 years of age or older. Lived, educational, and/or professional experience with persons who have a disability. Commitment to the Independent Living Philosophy. Have the skills and competence to establish supportive, trusting relationships with persons living with a disability. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of consumer information. Ability to set and maintain personal and professional boundaries. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. Have strong computer/data entry skills and ability to document case notes. Ability to meet with consumers in their communities in Ashland & Bayfield Counties. An insured vehicle and valid driver’s license or ability to arrange own transportation required.

Telework position located in Ashland or Bayfield county.

We are looking for a kind and caring person with a passion for helping others to join our Personal Care team.

Our Consumers have an active role in planning their own self-directed in-home supportive care services. Therefore, this allows us to offer a unique work environment for our Personal Care Workers (PCWs)/Caregivers to work one-on-one with the Consumers in their homes. Safety is key, so to establish a safe and trusting level of comfort and care, we have our PCWs/ Caregivers meet their Consumers prior to them working together.

We offer comparable wages and can offer a set or flexible schedule. We provide onsite training for every PCW in a Consumer’s home and pride our efforts and abilities to work together to form a reputable in-home care program. In other words, prior caregiving experience is helpful, but not required.

Trained staff are able to assist with the following In-Home Consumer care services:

Personal Care 
Supportive  Home Care Services
Hands-on Care (which may include but not limited to:
Assistance with Hygiene/ Bathing and Hair Care 
Meal Preparation
Assistance with Incontinence/ Toileting 
Light Housekeeping/ Laundry
Assistance with Dressing/ Undressing Medication Reminders/ Safety Checks Assistance with Transfers and Mobility Companionship / Errands/Shopping

Respite care services are also available to provide short-term relief/in-home support for primary caregivers.
